Hi, my name is Ella Lambert, I'm 22 and I am the CEO and Founder of The Pachamama Project, an organisation I set up in the first lockdown to grow a network of volunteers around the world to make reusable sanitary pads for refugees and vulnerable people who suffer with period poverty. I also run a not for profit in Afghanistan providing monthly food parcels to families who are living in extreme poverty. I am intent on spreading empathy and creating a more sustainable, kinder world. I use Facebook groups to grow communities of people and allow volunteers to link up with each other wherever they are in the world. The Pachamama Project Facebook groups allow volunteers to share tips and tricks, share materials and make friends and the Feeding Families Facebook group allows me to keep donors updated about the situation on the ground and how the families are doing.

So far, we have grown our network of volunteers to over 1000 people in 9 countries and counting, distributed our reusable pads to 5000 women around the world in 6 countries and collectively made 50,000 pads. Meanwhile, my friend Sedighe and I have raised £4000 for families in Afghanistan and have been able to support 26 families with monthly food parcels since August 2021. I've also launched a fundraiser with our partner Pads4Refugees to raise money to give pads to displaced Ukrainians, it's been 3 days and we've raised £700 so far.
